Recluse laughed and held the door open for Myrtle, continuing to chuckle as they walked to the school. Effie met them at the door. Recluse quickly put his wing over Myrtle, and Effie's eyes went wide, and looked a little disappointed after.

Myrtle tensed up slightly when he put his wing over her. It had been five years since anyone had done that, and it had been her mom.

“Hi there! Didn’t realize both of you were coming! This day is going better than I had planned!” Effie replied cheerfully. It was kind of a good thing that she didn’t need to use her skills. Her best friend would never approve.
