Raptor turned upon hearing her name. “Cinta!” She called back. She watched Ivory and Paradise land next to her with narrow suspicious black eyes. “Who are these two? What’s going on, did you get away from Leif?”

"Just- just some other helpful dragons," Cinta stammered, "I barely escaped from Leif. Don't go near him if he can control you. I nearly killed a dragon." She shuddered. "What... what do we do, Raptor?" The SkyWing gave Raptor a look of concern.

“The animus dragon. He’s right there!” Chenoa was even more confused.

"Nah, the idiot must have put the same spell on himself as he did Blackflower. What's the matter with him? Is he dying? Gosh, I hope he's dying." Leif took a hesitant step forward, feeling the air for the Animus.

“He couldn’t control me even if he wanted to.” Raptor said with a snarl. “I’ve been trying to find my infernal animus but he’s nowhere to be found. What’s Leif doing now?”

Cyprus stepped in front of him. "Do you really?" He asked, looking directly into the Icewing's eyes.

Leif winked. "You betcha." The IceWing reached out, poking the invisible dragon before him. "What happened? Did you kill him?" Leif gave Cyprus a fake, wary glance, grinning.

*Oh snakes, Leif’s going to kill Atlantis if Chenoa tells him where he is.* Ender thought, flattening his ears fearfully for the SeaWing’s sake. *I just hope that he has protection spells.* The NightWing thought, glancing over at Cyprus in hopes that he was wondering the same thing.

*And I will be killed if I don’t tell him. * Chenoa thought to Ender.

"Oh, I'm not sure," Cinta turned squinting up at the palace. "He was on the terrace last I saw him. I- oh! Heavens, he's moved, look!" Cinta pointed in the distance to where Leif's massive form lurked, his white, blue scales reflecting the moon light.

The Leafwing shook his head. "No."

"For one thing, he's not dead." He said. "Not yet."

"Oh, how perfect. I can finish that." Leif smiled, flashing his brilliant white teeth as he took a step closer to the Animus, running his talons along the invisible SeaWing's scales, searching for the dragons neck.
