Ad Astra Per Aspera
Fae cleared her throat, "Ah, yes, both tribes, ah, well... Recent events have led to the near extinction of the IceWings."
Leif blinked, trying to act natural.
"They have severed ties with the SeaWings."
This was true. Fae had killed Frost when she returned to the IceWing Kingdom and rescued Leif. She severed the ties in disgust with her tribe.
"I believe the terms can be quite simple." Fae continued, "Let us make a law regarding how our subjects shall interact with one another. Including us as well. A law stating in times of peace, no dragon under rule of Queen Fae of the SeaWings and Queen Venom of the WebWings shall injure another. Quite simple, I know, but if we are in agreement, we can always alter the terms later on."
(I realize Fae and Leif would not have seen a bear like this before, since they’re used to the polar ones)“Severed ties… I wonder why…” he thought, watching them with curiosity and intrigue. “I wonder if he can sense me with his magic..?” He thought with a hint of alarm. A coyote darted through the shrubbery and Aphono almost leapt after it out of instinct, catching himself just before doing so. It looked to be running from something. Aphono looked around and caught sight of the problem, A giant cave bear. They plagued the area and were big enough to do real damage to the younger dragonets and adults alike. And it was heading straight for the trio of conversing dragons.
“Hopefully Venom paid attention to all those fighting techniques…” he thought as he watched the giant bear crash through the underbrush, barreling toward them with its claws bared and jaws open, ready to sink its saber like fangs into his queen. He would only blow his cover if she needed help.
(I’m thinking Venom can take this chance to display the Webwings special abilities! Pinning it down with webs. Using Venom. Special fighting tactics. Etc!)
“Sounds alright. I’ll have someone write that d-” Venom spun around when she heard the sound of scrub brush snapping behind her. The black dragon’s main suspect was confirmed wrong when she smelled the furry scent of a bear. She snarled at it as it growled back; a pair of amber eyes glanced back at the two foreigners.
“Stay back!” She snapped. “These things are dangerous. I’ll handle it.” Her tail lashed in prospect of the animal’s attack.
The bear had hesitated when Venom spun around, but now lunged towards her, long claws outstretched as they slashed towards her neck. The WebWing queen jumped back and let out a thick strand of sticky silk and threw a loop over the bear’s head; she yanked the white strands towards her, knocking the bear off its feet. Venom leapt over to the carnivore and dispatched it with a ruthless bite on the neck with her venomous fangs.
“Huh. Haven’t done that in a while.” She gasped. She knew the bite alone wouldn’t be enough to kill the animal, but her venom was deadly, and the bear’s movements were slowing with every struggle it made.
