"I do." Aloe sighed with relief. "Gila said he had to leave once Leif began taking control of dragons. He didn't want to hurt you."
"Aloe."
The SandWing princess wheeled around, realizing Gila stood behind her, looking confident, yet slightly embarrassed.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stay," he started slowly, pushing past Aloe, "I didn't want Leif to force me to undo your protection spell."
Raptor snarled and stepped forward. “Gila..” she rumbled. “How the blazing suns can that thick iceberg force you to do anything? You’re an animus! You’ve got protection spells!” She tapped his one gold earring rather roughly. “And if you don’t, make some!” She snarled, shoving her dagger back in its sheath with a jerk. “A SeaWing, some random LeafWing, and some NightWings stopped him! And from what I know they’re not even animuses! Why the flaming suns did you run?”

The spells Gila has on right now are a protection spell on a earring from harm and a spell to make Raptor love him and his sisters as her own dragonets. He made one protecting himself from Leif’s spells but it got crushed on his ear. And he healed his ear.
"He destroyed the earring I had enchanted, Raptor. And I shouldn't overuse the magic. Right? Oh, I don't know. Yeah, a few protection spells make sense." He nodded awkwardly.

(Ah, thank you, I forgot.)
Raptor took a breath. “Okay, go get a piece of jewelry or something that you won’t lose. If you have to do a spell, plan it out so you only have to do one rather than several. Make a stronger protection spell for one. Protect yourself against Leif’s magic. Oh, protect your soul too. You can give that earring you’ve got on to Serval or one of your sisters.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.” The WebWing queen said, glancing over his wings. “As for these two, they come from the distant kingdoms. Pantala IS real, Aphono. The legends about where our ancestors come from is true. This is Queen Fae, of the.. SeaWings. And IceWings. Her and her companion are magic.”
She turned to the IceWing pair to introduce the new dragon. “Fae, Leif, this is Aphono. My most trusted ss..scout.” She said, stopping herself from saying ‘spy’ at the last moment.

@Crestcrazy2

“Same time, same place.” Venom whispered back, before striding back over to Aphono.
“See that you get some medical aid, then we’ll talk.” She instructed him with a nod.
The news surprised him of course, but he’d always secretly hoped it might be true. “A Queen of two tribes? That’s….odd. Must be a Seawing or Icewing thing. What odd names…” his mind spun a web of thoughts, but no matter the politeness of their meeting, Aphono didn’t like them. They were hiding something, he could see it in faes body language and in Leif eyes. “Magic…..magic…..” He watched the leave, his four eyes tracking them until they were gone.
“As you wish, my Queen.”

Venom called Aphono to her personal chambers later after the IceWings had left. She shut the door behind them, making sure no one was listening in. “Any intel?” She said, flexing her claws.

Aphono was much better looking after a quick bath in the nearby ocean and a few real bandages keeping his wings clean. His scales shone even in the moonlight. “The Cavewings seem to be prepared for war all the time, they’re a very nervous but strong tribe. I’m afraid they outnumber us by quite a substantial amount. The mineralwings on the other hand…..” Aphono went silent for a moment. “I’m not sure if war is the best option. Peace could prove much more helpful, their territory isn’t as good as we thought. Their Queen….Emerald..I think, she seems very willing to do anything to protect her tribe and especially the young ones. I met a little trouble maker of a mineralwing few weeks before I got here. Quartz. I…I’m just afraid that sending our tribe into battle with another would shrink us down to such a size that we could easily be overtaken by the firewings or Cavewings. Or anyone really.” Aphono realized he had probably said enough. “I’m sorry, my Queen. I don’t mean to ramble.” He finished, watching the Queen with respect, but curiosity. What would she choose? Peace or war?

Leif shivered with joy. The bitter wind felt incredible.
The Kingdom of Ice appeared desolate, large snow drifts remained untouched, covering entire buildings. The wind howled as Leif slowly made his way down a drift leading to a snow dusted, cobbled road, protected from the elements by a pair of tall turrets. The sky was clouded and gloomy, a large gray expanse.
"Hullo?" Leif's voice echoed through a few hollow buildings, but was quickly muffled by the howling wind and swirling snow.
Leif squinted at a drift, dull blue scales half covered by the snow. Carefully, he rushed to the dragon, scraping the iced snow off his body and wincing.
What has happened. Where were the IceWings?
A creeping sorrow washed through his mind as he continued through the Kingdom, dragging his talons and tail along forlornly.
He searched empty houses and shops, finding two more dead, one a dragonet.
"I enchant myself to lead myself to the IceWings." He whispered, curious to see where the spell would take him.
A strangled yelp escaped as his body was wrenched backward, his wings catching the wind. He surged towards the palace at an incredible speed, quickly reversing the spell on his mind.
Leif's talons clicked on the icy stone as he slowly made his way through the palace. The halls he had once trode so often reminded him of his once simple, innocent life. He sure has kissed that good bye, and ever since, second thoughts and regrets plagued his mind.
The first and second floors appeared empty. Leif shook his head. They must be here. Ahead, a massive drift had blown in through an open terrace. Leif stopped, blinking hard. Where were they? He hadn't... he hadn't killed his entire tribe... had he? Leif stumbled, leaning against the palace wall. This couldn't be happening. This couldn't be real.
The Prince staggered suddenly as something leapt on him from behind, a sharp pain pulsing in his neck. He crumpled, swallowing hard as fear pricked at the edges of his mind. Talons closed around his neck and he fought the dragon half heartedly for but a moment, then stiffened, feeling the poison flood through his body.
"Have you come to kill us? To finish us off, Leif?" A voice hissed.
Leif winced as his head was yanked to the side, his eyes straining to focus on the IceWing before him.
"No." He gritted out, fighting the darkness clouding his vision. He recognized the dragon immediately, a close cousin of his. "Wait- F-Frost," he begged quietly. Leif did not care that he was an Animus, he did not care that he could teleport himself somewhere else, he did not care that he could grow to an enormous size and kill this dragon. He cared about his tribe. The tribe he may have just decimated. What was the point anymore? He was done. Grief and misery clouded his thoughts. Leif took a shuddering breath and stopped fighting, closing his eyes and feeling the poison seep into his mind.
He was done with this world.
He was done with this life.
