Wings of Fire ~The RP: The Three Continents

Aphono was much better looking after a quick bath in the nearby ocean and a few real bandages keeping his wings clean. His scales shone even in the moonlight. “The Cavewings seem to be prepared for war all the time, they’re a very nervous but strong tribe. I’m afraid they outnumber us by quite a substantial amount. The mineralwings on the other hand…..” Aphono went silent for a moment. “I’m not sure if war is the best option. Peace could prove much more helpful, their territory isn’t as good as we thought. Their Queen….Emerald..I think, she seems very willing to do anything to protect her tribe and especially the young ones. I met a little trouble maker of a mineralwing few weeks before I got here. Quartz. I…I’m just afraid that sending our tribe into battle with another would shrink us down to such a size that we could easily be overtaken by the firewings or Cavewings. Or anyone really.” Aphono realized he had probably said enough. “I’m sorry, my Queen. I don’t mean to ramble.” He finished, watching the Queen with respect, but curiosity. What would she choose? Peace or war?
Venom huffed, clearly aggravated by the news. "I told you not to interact too much with anyone.." She grumbled, pacing and glaring at the floor. "The FireWings aren't- no, wait, they're going to want more territory soon with their current place being just the volcano. They're not ambitious enough to attack us though." She sighed. "We're going to have to send in our forces as secretly as possible. We can't let them know when we attack the MineralWings. For all they can know, the tribe disappeared overnight. We're much stronger than them, and we can take them out under cover of night. Besides, we hopefully have allies with the distant kingdoms now." She looked Aphono in the eyes. "Did you know Queen Fae is queen of TWO tribes alongside being magic?" She said. "I could see ambition in her eyes. She's smarter than she wants us to know." She nodded decisively.
"When the MineralWings 'disappear', we'll push our territory more outwards. Not into LightWing territory, but further up the southeast beach too. No one will be the wiser."

Raptor took a breath. “Okay, go get a piece of jewelry or something that you won’t lose. If you have to do a spell, plan it out so you only have to do one rather than several. Make a stronger protection spell for one. Protect yourself against Leif’s magic. Oh, protect your soul too. You can give that earring you’ve got on to Serval or one of your sisters.”

"Gotcha." Gila said, a ghost of a grin on his face. He quickly went down to his chambers and selected a new earring, a golden snake that wound around the ear, with black diamonds for eyes. "Enchant this earring to protect the wearer from the animus Leif's magic, past, present or future, as well as protect the wearer's soul from the negative effects of animus magic." he muttered, cupping the earring in his talons. Perfect. he thought, satisfied. He clipped the little gold snake onto his newly healed ear before heading back to meet Raptor.
"Think fast," he said to Serval, tossing his old earring at the SandWing.

Aphono nodded, it seemed the Queens mind was made up. He didn’t like it, why would a random queen from continents far away come to help us defeat a small tribe? Why come at all, especially with two tribe to look after? Aphono looked up to the queen, respected her and served her…but, how could he willingly kill off an entire species?
“Do….do we really have to kill them all? That’s seems..drastic. shouldn’t we at the very least try for peace? I mean, if this Fae character can be queen of two tribes…why couldn’t you? We would have even more strength for when the firewings do eventually attack. And that isn’t too far off into the future if my knowledge of those cranky fire snorters is correct. As your spy and advisor, I only want to help. I want what’s best for the tribe, just like you do my Queen.” Aphono hoped he hadn’t spoken his mind too much, he studied the Queens face quickly, before bowing his head slightly. Was that thoughtfulness He saw?

Raptor wasn’t in sight when Gila walked in. Serval managed to catch the earring even though he was caught off guard, and held it to the light to look at it suspiciously. “This thing just has a protection spell on it, right?” He said cautiously. “Nothing else fancy or dramatic I should know about?”

“That was the plan.” Venom said firmly. “Why are you questioning it now? If I allow the MineralWings to live, the tribes to mingle, then our dragons will become weaker. Those dragons don’t have anything dangerous or powerful our tribe can inherit. They’re weak, and we’re strong. It’s survival of the fittest, and we will die out if we don’t expand. Because you know what Aphono?” The queen’s amber eyes stared hard into his.
“Other than the MineralWings, our tribe is the weakest and smallest. We need to grow our numbers, like ants.” She smirked wryly. “A pretty lame-sounding term right? An ant isn’t super powerful by itself, or even with a small group, but have you even dug into an ant mound? The whole colony swarms and you freak out.” She laughed.
“Our numbers will be so many, and yet no one will know because we’re living right beneath their stupid, oblivious noses. But in order to do that-” her tone hardened again.
“We need more territory. This is for our tribe’s best good, and with less dragons in the way, we can grow. Other tribes will live to respect and fear us. Even the original tribes.”

“Nope. Just protection.” Gila said with a wink. “Refuse it if you want, but we can’t have our king mortally injured or worse, can we?”

Serval snorted and clipped the earring on. “I’m not king.” He said gruffly.
Raptor walked out of a room next to him, holding up an oblong black stone. “The Obsidian Mirror.” She said simply, and held it up. She breathed a plume of smoke and whispered; “Leif.” By the smoke just rolled off the glassy surface and dissipated.
Raptor gave the animus-touched item a confused look. “That’s supposed to work..” she muttered. “Cinta.” She said, blowing more smoke, and this time it showed a red whisp of smoke, seeming walking somewhere.
“So it’s working..” The SandWing queen mused. “That can only mean one thing. Leif’s dead. But how’s THAT possible?”

Gila had been peering over the queens shoulder curiously. “Dead?” He said, a thrill of shock shivering along his wings. “How could that be?”
Quickly his mind began turning over the possibilities. What could possibly kill such a powerful animus as Leif? He felt a twinge of worry. Was this dragon a threat to him?
Gila reached up subconsciously to his new protection earring, wondering if he should edit the spell.
