My chicks are 7 weeks old today. They've been out since 4 weeks old with a red 250w lamp hung as high as I can get it in they're 4ft high coop. I close them the coop at night (5 x3 x 4'). Yesterday was very windy and they preferred staying in the coop with the door open but out of the wind. Mine are slower to feather (Brahmas, Orpingtons) but the RIR's and Leghorns are further ahead. We're 40's during the days and 20's at night.
