"Winter coats for free range chickens" ????

OMG...LEGWARMERS!!!!

This is the funniest thing I've read all day, hands down.

Imagine, Flashdance chicken! "She's a maniac, maniac...."

Unless they had extensive feather loss, I can't imagine anyone putting coats on chickens! Their torsos are totally insulated from the cold.

Now, if they said they were putting a hat on to cover a big comb from frostbite or little boots to protect toes, that I could see being useful!

I think the hat style with ear flaps and the little string to tie under their beaks would be nice and warm, plus help them stay on. Definitely a pompom on top! With the matching leg warmers, that would be so attractive!

I really want to. Mine actually need one of those hat scarf combos to protect their combs from frost bite. I'd try it but that would be the day dh whould have me carried off to the place with the white padded walls. If I can get him to go somewhere on Saturday....

Ahhh, yes, I HAVE seen the Jumpers for Rescue Hens, but that was for very very bedraggled battery hens.... due to feather loss.

But my mind has already envisioned the pom-pom topped little cold-weather, strap-secured hats. Is that scary or what???
