Winter Coop

What happens if i have 1 month old chiks and 3 week old chicks in there with their mom
Their mom keeps them warm until they don't need her anymore then she weens them.
My first batch of chicks this year hatched on April 30. When the chicks were 2 weeks old we had a howling blowing snow storm. Mom had the chicks under her most of that day.

Can you move them to a section maybe put a heat lamp in for the young birds? I live in Florida and probably have a similar climate. I don't close the vents on my coops unless it gets into the 20's or upper teens which we do get now and then in the winter. My bird baths have frozen solid.

The OP said she has 1 month old chick(s) and some 3 week old chick(s). Not sure if mom will keep them all warm and not sure how many chicks there are. Mom may sit on them but maybe not all of them? I have used a heat lamp but not to warm up the coop but to make the chicks a little more comfortable. Some at 1 month and the others at 3 weeks not sure. I haven't used a broody in many years. Now I incubate and hatch. Good luck...
