One of my chickens has been awesome, laying eggs in the freezing temperatures we have been having but in the last week she dropped 2 eggs in a row overnight (twice), from the roosting post, and they were broken and frozen. Normally she lays her eggs in the nesting boxes which are all clean, so I don't know why this is happening - and both times 2 eggs come out in one night- they are large and beautiful but when I get there to clean up in the morning, they are broken and frozen. I know which chicken it is, as she is the only one that lays greenish eggs (the others are brown shells). Any ideas why this is happening? Thank you.
