Hello there! :frow And :welcome It is wonderful to have you here with us! Hmm, I am no expert on ducks. Are you talking about a ground cover for for their shelter? Or for their run? I have heard that ducks can be very messy, someone suggested gravel? I am not sure at all, maybe you could post in the duck forum?

Welcome from NW Mississippi!!....:frow
I'm unfamiliar with rice hulls, but a bit more information would be helpful in understanding just what ya have in mind. Locale could make a major difference along with housing setup. Around here many feed them to their cattle for winter supplements, but have never heard of them being used for some kind of ground cover....not sure about how they stand up to moisture and how quickly it may grow mold. These are things that I can think of to consider, but can't answer the poll question with so little info given, maybe if ya explain it more....

Interesting read from an older forum on here about rice hulls. Sounds like it could work well if contained properly!

My ducks run is just dirt and grass, pine shavings in the coop. Does well with me but if I had more resources I would love to have an alternate ground cover or bedding option. I’m just cheap :p

I think sand would be great! But my run gets wet so that’s a no-go for me.

Let us know what you do!
