Does anyone have experience with self blue D'Anvers in cold weather? Here where I live in Colorado it often gets to minus 20 the chickens are in a large barn, enclosed from wind and moisture. I put down straw but these chickens like perching on wire panels, roof trusses etc. in the barn.

I don't have d'Anvers, but I have d'uccle, and they do find, my roosters got frostbitten combs and lost the points, it got really cold here in Wisconsin in the last couple of years, I believe d'Anvers have a smaller comb. I allow mine to choose their own roosts as well.

thanks! I enjoy these chickens a lot first year having them. have had chickens for many years like silkies and cochins. I feed a good grade pellet and heated water in the winter
