Winter Laying Light, Red Or White?

I have decided to extend my light for laying purposes here in Michigan where we now only have about 11 hours of daylight currently. We will drop to 9 1/2 by end of Dec. My question is Red or white bulb? Does it make any difference? The white bulb (FL energy saving type) would be cheaper from an electric usage standpoint. But the red bulb would provide more heat to coop. My coop is insulated.

I just installed a daylight bulb on a timer in my coop for this purpose. I'm not really worried about heating the coop.

white and if you use a twist bulb you need a full spectrum bulb, you get better results with it (called sunlite or revile)
