After the freezing rain last week.
 
No we usually leave faucets dripping so it doesn't mess up our pipes
We leave an inside faucet dripping yes, but the outdoor faucet off, or the ice can travel up and burst the pipe above the faucet. There are even warnings on alot of the hoses or faucet nobs. :idunno
Maybe it's not as much of a problem if it doesnt get too cold, we had one burst once because my brother left it on.
 
That's right, drain all hoses and hang them up. I was taught to do that every time. Otherwise they will split, and who wants to buy new hoses every spring? But IN the house, on single-digit temps, let faucets drip to keep thrm from freezing and open the cabinet doors so warm air can circulate around the pipes.
