I am fortunate enough to be a science teacher with light boxes in my classroom which I do my use this time of year. I read an article about wheat grass as a winter snack for chickens. Does anyone have any suggestions for fresh vegetation my chickens would enjoy?

I feed leafy alfalfa hay and I sprout wheat. They really love both. I have 2 rubber pans from the feed store, I just toss it in those. I also chop whole bales of hay in my shredder/ mulcher They love scratching around in that, eating up the greens! They also roam the horses area, picking through everything.

I sprout wheat for winter greens for the chooks....don't need light boxes, or grow lights - some folks don't use any light at all....I just use an east window for about 3 days after about 3 days in the kitchen.

You could grow just about anything for them.
