Shovels ready, extra plastic around the coops, oil lamps full, water set aside...I think we're ready.
The radar is showing quite a large band of snow. Hope you all stay safe and warm!

Similar weather is going to be hitting us tonight. I am really worried about Tuesday and Wednesday.

I was hoping the temps would move up a little bit as we got closer but they have actually moved down. Wednesday was at -24 before and Tuesday was at -23. I had to set up a ton of stuff today to prepare my young pair of peafowl for this cold snap. Are you expecting similar temps over there?

Tuesday night and Wednesday night around -6 here but that's not including the wind chill of winds gusting at 40 mph. It's going to be a bugger....I hope all the animals outside in our rural area will be ok.
My husband has to leave for work at 4 a.m. in the morning so thankfully he has 4 wheel drive, but I'll feel much better when I know he's safely at work.

Expected to wake up to snow.... nothing yet. Cold as all heck. I'm thinking the storm must be moving slower than anticipated.
You know it's cold outside when the doggies look at you like "I promise I can hold it longer mom, don't make me go out there" :lau

If forecasters are right, by weekend ,we are supposed to have couple normal days of 20F or so. And some threat of 30 later and chance of rain????
By Saturday it's supposed to be back up to 34 here in Michigan.... and 34 will be a welcome temp compared to these next couple days. We wrapped our coops with extra wind break and have fingers crossed.
