We're glad to have you.

We have 2 comets 1 bared rock 1 Brahma and 1 Cochin and 1 aracana. All of my walls are 1inch thick wood planks no insulation but everything is painted and caulked so should I add insulation or will I be okay I also have electric ran and they have a 60watt bulb for extra light for winter months

Golden Comets are one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links, and like all Red Sex Links, they are egg laying machines. Your Araucana is likely an Easter Egger as true Araucanas have tailless rumps and are rare. The good news for winter is that all or your birds are cold hardy breeds (Barred Rocks, Brahma, Cochin) or hybrids (Comets, Easter Egger). As long as you keep your coop dry and draft free, they should be fine.

Michael Oshay well that makes me feel better and yes the aracana is an easter egger. And its funny you say that cause the comets are like egg machines however the tiny little Cochin does pretty good for herself I would love to get more comets for that reason but my wife likes fancy birds lol so I gotta pick and choose my battles.

A draft free coop with sufficient ventilation and thicker layers of bedding should get them through the winter just fine. You could stack bales of hay around the outside of run as a wind break. Heat lamps etc. can be a common source of fires so it's better if you don't use them.

Yeah I actually just got 6 bales to put around the coop to cut down on wind so I'm thinking that should help.
