Depending on how many chickens you have (I have 23) you can get away with a heated dog bowl. They come in gallon and 2 gallon sizes. I got mine in petsmart and it only uses 25 watts.

For the person who asked about the rubber bucket- I got mine at tractor supply but I've seen them in any hardware store that also sells feed or supplies for horses.

Where can one buy these flexible black bowls?

Farm supplies sell them, however it would depend how cold you get, i know here mine would freeze solid come deep winter like enough where i could stand on one.
