Hi everyone,
So..... I unknowingly rescued a chicken. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 all I know about her is thats she’s 2 years old (supposedly) and the guy had two hens but ran out of food and the one died. 😡🤔 this girl was super skittish with him and is not a happy camper 😥 however... the bigger issue here is that she is in her innovation pet chicken coop all by herself because I need to quarantine her before adding her to my flock but the lows here are supposed to get down to single digits.. BRRR will she be okay by herself? I don’t want to do a heat lamp and I don’t want to risk any of my flock getting sick from her. What can I do to make her nights a little warmer while she’s by herself? Picture of her in her little coop!

She'll be fine....as long as she's dry and out of the wind.
Might give her, and all your birds, a dose of Sav-A-Chick.

Birds can get dehydrated in winter as well as summer so I've started soaking rolled oats in a Sav-a-Chick electrolytes/vitamins solution.
This avoids the 'wattle dippage' of an open waterer.
Gives them a boost and gets them hydrated.
1/8 teaspoon to 1 cup of warm water, mix until dissolved.
Add solution to 1 cup of rolled oats, stir well on occasion until all liquid is absorbed, might need to add more oats. Takes an hour or two, then give it to the birds.
