Wintering a single turkey

How do I take care of my turkey in the winter? We have a single BBW tom (Jefferson) who is part of our 15-chicken flock. All were raised together and socialize as family. They share a coop at night and the chickens roost in the top while Jefferson sleeps in a corner on the floor. The walls in his corner are solid to keep out drafts, the floor is stone so it's not wet and Jefferson sleeps on a deep bed of straw. But I worry in winter that is not enough. We don't have terrible winters here, little or no snow and few nights below freezing. Fire fear turns me off giving him a heat lamp. I understand turkeys cuddle in flocks. Should I get him another turkey? Would a heating pad in his straw be safe? And sufficient?

Mine don't cuddle. -20 f before they came in the coop out of the trees. They are heritage.
I had a BBB that spent the winter of the floor of a coop. By 18 months her legs were bad from her weight and had to be processed. Heartbreakers ment to be harvested before 20 wks

Turkeys are quite adept at handling cold weather, their body temp is around 106 degrees F. and they have very tight fitting well insulated feathers to ward off wind and cold. Most turkeys prefer to roost outside in trees or on top of buildings instead of inside under a roof. Your tom will be just fine in the surroundings in which you have provided.

Blessings,

Bo
