Wisconsinites what hatchery have you had luck with?

Well Just cleaned out my coop will run and get bedding soon.. This time I think I want Columbian Wyandottes. Is it too early ( cold to ship) to Wisconsin. Which hatcheries do you recommend. I normally us Abendroth Hatchies but they do not carry the Colombians. Thanks

Funny you use Abendroth. We did, too. They suck.
We placed 3 separate orders with them that was supposed to be one order. They couldn't supply the 2 Light Brahma pullets and 2 Asian Black pullets because of bad hatches and didn't offer chick replacement so we rescheduled those two orders for the following few weeks. So that would make 2 order of 2 pullets each. Both times they said they gave us sexed pullets and we got 100% cockerels. No refund.

I will never use them again. They almost did it to my friend, too but I made her have them recheck. When you order 2-3 sexed female chicks from them, they give you sexed males. I swear it is on purpose.

I've had very good luck with Murray McMurray, Cackle, Privett, Meyer, and Ideal. Meyer Hatchery and Cackle both carry Colombian Wyandottes. I'd recommend placing your order now but requesting a ship date later in the year. That's what I do. I order early to get what I want but don't get the chicks until May or June depending on the weather. HTH and good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I ended up ordering with Cackle for a May delivery. I ordered 2 days ago and just checked it is still processing.
