I'm so excited!!!! Now I have to decide which kind(s) I want to get.... OMG! This is going to be hard! DH says I have to limit it to 10! So now comes the hardest part!!!! Of course, I have time because we will need to build a coop, etc.

Now, I am wondering... is 10 too FEW to stay warm in the winter????

Depends on the size of your coop. We kept 15 hens in a 8 X 12 coop, they did fine, and our winter was pretty cold this year. They tend to huddle together to stay warm. But.... if you really want to keep 20 chickens, I say go for it!!

YAY!!!!

I say go ahead and order the number you want to start with. Otherwise you'll end up placing another order later on and having to pay shipping again.

Well, you DEFINATELY need to order some extras when you order your chicks because you KNOW you just MIGHT lose a few in transit....wink wink, nod nod...

Would he buy it if you told him that there's a 50% mortality rate for shipped day olds?? Wink, wink...
