Hi all my little lady Daisy became sick yesterday. She was still on her perch when I went to let them out and fell off (not far enough to hurt). She is dazed and her head is just wobbling around. She wouldn’t eat tuna or drink yesterday and very difficult to get electrolyte water into her with syringe. Yesterday she did a poo just water then a poo just black then a poo just cream. Today we have had an epsonsalt bath which she drank some of and she is eating yogurt off my finger but seems to be a bit off with where she thinks the food is when she does little pecks like she is dizzy or disoriented. She isnt egg bound. I have checked her for parasites. She has a brown scabby bit on her wattle which I though was from another chicken pecking her but at closer look it doesn’t seem so. I have attached a photo of this and her poo this morning. Anyone have any suggestions what might be wrong or what else I could try? Any help would be much appreciated

Did one of the other chickens peck her really hard on the head?
Because I know polish chickens have vaulted skulls and if they get pecked too hard on the head it can cause brain damage.

Polish can be low in pecking order and mine were sometimes bullied or pecked on their heads. I would feed her separately for awhile to make sure that she is getting enough. Wet chicken feed and scrambled egg bits or tuna, and some probiotic yogurt are all good. Watch to see if they are chasing or pecking, or keeping her from food. If they are picking on her, there are some ways to deal with it. Here is a good article about bullied chickens:

Good advice from @Eggcessive
In addition to getting her hydrated and eating. If she's pecking at food and missing, I'd also start her on 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4tablet B-Complex.

Also watch to see if she is able to see well. Sometimes trimming feathers away/from around the eyes can help tremendously.

Can't tell what's on her wattle. If you have other photos, we'll be happy to take a look .

Thank you. Yes she is due for another feather trim but that is definitely not all that's going on. I have just returned home with vitamins for her. She is due for worming. I have just been able to give her some of this was well. Thank you for your help. I'll see if I can get a better photo of her wattle a bit later.

Thanks again,
Amanda

Little daisy is doing a bit better this morning. After a bath she has guzzled down some porridge with nutrients water. Still won’t drink so it least I can get some water and nutrients in with the food. Eyes are open more. This is a better photo of what is happening with her wattle. Any ideas?
Thanks Amanda
