Hi,

I have four turkeys that are all ~15 weeks old. Three of them seem to be doing great but one of them is just...off. She's wobbly, her feathers are all ruffled up, she kinda just hangs out nearby the coop while the other 3 venture further away. At night she seems to hang out on the floor while the other three roost. She does eat and drink ok, but i'm not sure if she eats the same amount as the others. What could her problem be? Is there anything i can do for her? Here is a couple of pictures of her.

What have you been feeding? Type of ration and protein percentage?

It's been a mix of chick feed and chicken pellets depending on who was feeding them. (I accidentally put the wrong feed in the food bins, so I was feeding them chick feed and my wife was feeding them chicken layer pellets.) The chick feed is 20% protein. The layer pellets are 16%.

Do you think it's a lack of protein?

Thanks!

It could be. I have raised poults on chick feed. It slows down their growth by quite a bit. I added scrambled eggs to their daily diet the second time which helped. It's best to initially feed poults a 28% starter for the first month or two.

Another thing that could be going on is coccidiosis. You may want to try treating for that. @Wyorp Rock , does this sound like potential coccidiosis?

Thanks! I'll see what I can find for higher protein feed.

If it sounds like coccidiosis should i treat all the birds in that coop? Or should I quarantine the one sick one and only treat her?

I'm not sure as I've never dealt with it. Hopefully @Wyorp Rock knows, or maybe @Eggcessive can help.

If you have one that is suffering from coccidiosis, it is best to treat all of them for it. If they are infected, it will help, if they aren't infected, it will not harm them.
