And the inside of my coop looks like somebody emptied a feather pillow in there! The feathers are everywhere except on the chickens where they belong!

I know the feeling. Mine have started and their favorite hangout (under the carport) is covered in feathers.

Hmmm is August the normal time for molting in your area? It seems early to me but my dog is blowing coat too. Wonder is this means a early winter again.

(whispers) Don't look now but so are mine! I'm vacuuming 2-3 times a day and the carpet STILL looks like a furry pelt.

My cats and dog are shedding every where and the chickens are molting and my 14wk olds are growing and shedding feather and my 2wk olds are losing fluff and growing some feathers. So it's a mess right now.

Don't even think about this winter being as bad as the last, The big people door I open to let them free-range Froze/got stuck at about a foot open so I could not close it and had to fight it to get inside.
