There was quite a bit of junk there...and someone was actually trying to sell baby racoons and foxes!

But, I bought a Mini Rex rabbit...show quality. So I guess I know what my daughter is going to do next year for 4-H.

It's the cutest thing!

I'm tempted to go back in July and get a bunch of Amish food! It looked really good! and I might end up with another rabbit. Lol!

Was it more of a junk flea market type deal, like lucasville?
Trying to figure if its worth a drive sometime or a waste of time.
Thanks all

I went to the June 2009 Wolf lake swap meet and thought it was great. Lots of chickens and other fowl there to sell, a few horses, some goats, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish, lizzards, parrots and also flea market style stuff but mostly animals mainly fowl.

I was introduced to isa brown hens there got a young egg layer one for only $5. She is a great egg laying machine chicken and so gentle and friendly too. Quiet too. There were lots of isa browns there. I never heard of them before then.

My main reason for going was to get some guineas. But they were all sold out by the time I got there at about 9am. There were both adults and baby guineas being sold. I stopped a man who had a cage full of them in his truck and wanted to know where he got them. I went to the booth he directed me to and they were sold out.

Several of the venders said lots of ppl were asking for guineas. One vender said he had older guinea chicks at home and will probably be able to bring them this weekend for sale for about $4 a piece. So Im going early in the morning to see if I can get some before it gets to crowded and they get sold out again.

If yall want both adult and baby chickens then I recommend this swap meet. It is like a petting zoo too. Ya only have to pay $4 to park the car and that is it unlike at the zoo where you pay for each person. My kids love it. We pack snacks and enjoy staying all morning.

I am wanting go . Haven't been in years. I'm concerned about the rain forecast. I'd like to get a trio of OEGB and maybe some more Cochin bantam hens. When I last went ,back in the 90's, it was great. I've been told the flea market portion has taken over the livestock. Your report sounds good though....thanks
