Soul Fang, having gotten utterly lost trying to find a wolf named Maple, had stopped by a stream and was lapping water rapidly. From the scents, he concluded that he was at GrassClan's border, but he didn't know which Clan was beyond it.

"I don't know too much besides them growing and... you know,"River said.

Suddenly feeling jittery, as though someone or something was watching him, Soul Fang looked up, water dripping from his muzzle. Thoughts rushed through his head: was he intruding? What was out there? Was something out there?

Throwing his head back, he gave a howl of greeting. If something was out there, he hoped it was friendly.
