Flame watched her leave and tended to his wound. After cleaning his wound on his leg, he came to the conclusion that his leg would be healed in a could of weeks.
Sia found the rabbit hole and waited a little while behind a bush until the mother led two of the kits out. She decided that she would go for the young rabbits and leave the mother to care for the others. Sia waited until the mother and bigger kit had gone away a little ways to pounce on the smaller of the two kits. She snapped its neck quickly and quietly. The mother and bigger kit were now farther apart but didn't see Sia kill the first. The young wolf waited until the kit was about 15 feet from its mother to emerge from behind the tree and pounce. This time, the mother saw her kill its kit and ran back to its hole. Sia smiled in satisfaction and picked up both kits. Together, the rabbits weighed about 10 pounds so she and Flame would have a decent sized meal. She loped back to Flame's den with the rabbits in her jaws. As she got there she dropped the rabbits. "Hungry? You can have the bigger one." Sia smiled and laid down.
