Blaze refreshed old scent markers as she followed charger.

Charger's ears came up. "I hear someone coming." (anybody can jump in here.)

blaze pricked her ears and heard the sounds of a wolf trying to step quietly. ( which border is it coming from?) blaze sank her claws into the ground and waited for her opponent. "come on" she told charger, while slipping behind a tall, thick, bush.
