I'd have called guinness if I found an egg that big from a hen.

It doesn't matter if you are only eating them, but even eggs you'd buy in the store are big end up in the carton. If you are saving them for hatching, pointy end up can mess up the insides.

The funny thing is, even if it doesn't' matter after coming here for a while you do it without even thinking about it LOL My dad used to pick eggs from the hen house and put them pointy side up and I would complain because now it's just habit

When my girls first started laying eggs one of them was laying a big egg like that almost every other day. She promptly died too. I never did get an egg in an egg though.
