Wonderful Dog breeds..Past and present..

Pics
I love English Bulldogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Doberman, Beauceron, German Shepherd, Sheltie, Shih Tzu, Yorkie, Chihuahua, Maltese, Pekinese, and Poodle (standard and mini). Oh and Irish Wolfhound.

Beaucerons are on my "maybe someday" list (though I really don't see me changing breeds). I think they are gorgeous, athletic and smart. I have a friend with some amazing Briards (a closely related breed) and they stole my heart.

I've never owned one before but, definitely husky. Each one is so different from the next and they all have amazing personalities and little quirks that make them stick out. If we lived in a colder area, our family would have one.

I owned Siberian Huskies in warm climates and they did fine. Being a good home for a husky involves more keeping them active, owning an escape proof yard and enjoying their funny quirkiness than keeping them cold.

This had me laughing...:gig

I always wanted an Irish wolfhound. They are magnificent dogs. You actually got to own one. :bow I'm so jealous. Closes I got was taking care of some Scottish deerhounds at a kennel I once worked at.

She was a fantastic dog. Would you believe my mother got her for free because she was diagnosed with IBD and the owner's surrendered her? She ended up being a great childhood dog.

My friend had a Beauceron and I was struck by how calm, cool and collected this dog was at a large soiree that she brought him to. It was a crazy party with a lot of loud noises and strangers walking around. He didn't leave her side but he wasn't at all concerned with the other people. No barking, growling or hair raising. Very relaxed but you could tell he was smart and serious.

I've been a Doberman fan for a long time but I've been disappointed in their temperaments lately. I'm finding them skittish and fearful, thus why I've considered Beauceron. One of my friends bought a top of the line Dobe and he is actually a bit of a jerk. And she is a professional handler, so lots of experience. Sometimes, a breed's popularity can be good, but sometimes, it can be bad too.

Love your Kiki in her pink sweater! I have a very poorly bred French mastiff rescue that to me has a bit if a pit look to his face. I had him DNA tested and he came back 100% dogue de Bordeaux but when people see him they think pit.
Pitbulls are my favorite dog breed hands-down. I love all dogs, but have always loved the look, size and behavior of a pit.

Here's my girl Keke.
