Hi...beautiful children...I bought my poults when they were a week old. You can also buy them when they are a couple days old but the train of thought is that if they last out a week they will do better (but I'm up in Canada so things could be different in the US).

Sad to say but a starving hunting dog ate 6 of the 9 babies when they were only 5 days old

I had just put an ad on CL to sell them. I did sell the last 3 to a woman that wanted 4 of them. At least I know the last 3 will have a nice home. I was heart broke and turned the dog over to animal control. I told them what happened and that I didn't blame the dog. She was starving. I do blame the owner and I plan on holding them responsible if and when they are found. Injured my pekin duck too. Hopefully he will be ok, time will tell. I feel for the Mother hen because she lost all her babies in a day and was looking for them. So sad. Maybe she will lay more eggs and try again. Who knows.
