Wondering...how many reply to thread from email....

...without visiting site to read other replies?
Is it even possible to do that?
Seems many replies seem to give no credence to other replies in thread,
thus negating the whole 'discussion forum' concept.
Kind of a rhetorical question.....grumpy.

I don’t think it’s possible to reply via email I just think some people either don’t read back or might miss something in the post. I’ve missed information in posts before and offered advice that was already offered.

The biggest issue is time. Sometimes I pick up my phone, check in, see a thread, throw in my 2 cents before reading the whole way through just because the plane's about to take off or someone is calling me. Then I'm tagged to it and I can take the time read through it later. Everyone once in a while I'm redundant but not that often that I've worried about it.

I get the emails but don't use them at all anymore.

I apologize if I have ever caused you angst aart.

I try to read through the whole thread but as By Bob says, time is sometimes an issue ~ especially in longer threads. For me also, sometimes I have trouble deciphering what the OP is actually asking ~ cultural gaps or just poorly worded~ & that means my response is not always the best.

I often see that people read the first post in a thread and reply to that. Sometimes it's humorous because the situation evolves a lot in the next 25 pages......Such as a hatching emergency that was solved and the thread is now about grown chickens, but people still chime in with hatching advice.

Just had to comment on you ending off with a note of "grumpy." It gave me a chuckle. Thank you, I needed that. Maybe a bit grumpy here too. denkend_smilie_0004.gif

I haven't tried that, I never go through the emails. Can we do that?
Are you meaning quoting previous replies for reference? Or people repeating what's already been said? Or both? :gig

One can subscribe to a thread without replying ;)

I am not targeting any one member in particular....
....it's far too common an occurrence to do that.
What's that phrase about paranoia?
