Wondering if duck has bumble foot. PICTURES INCLUDED

I feel that if I could see the foot I could give a better answer.  And I am hoping this is early bumblefoot.  Each duck is different.  Five ducks might look a certain way, then the sixth will present differently.  We do what we can here on the forum, and each person must go with what they think and feel is best, taking or leaving any ideas we may offer.

She may have some kind of splinters.  That would make the toes swell.  Romy had that once.   I took her to the vet and the vet removed the splinter.  I couldn't even see it, but the vet found it right away.  I really like that vet anyway, and she was my hero that day.

Yeah I'm going to try the soaking and compressing in Epsom salts first. I contacted a vet clinic to see if they will treat ducks.. I highly doubt anyone in my city does though :/

It's also winter here with lots of snow and ice that she's walking on all day so I have no idea if that can affect her feet as well. I got a pekin because they were a hardy breed compared to others. So, for now I'll take your advice and hope it works! If it gets worse I'll have to hope there is a vet here to take care of it. That will Probably be an expensive trip haha.

Thank you for all of your help though :)

You probably do have some straw or hay or sawdust put down where she walks most, but if you don't, that's something to try. I sprinkle used bedding from inside the duck house out on top of the snow and ice to get them off that while they're outside. They still find snowy icy places to stand.

Yes hahaha. Callie is weird like that, there's parts of her pen that are down to the bare ground but she insists on lying down on the snow! Her house is open for her to go into but she doesn't even bother. Can't figure the little one out.

I think it is bumble foot too, I have a goose that started that way and now can barely walk. I had to separate it from the other animals. I’m going to try the epsom salt rag to help it.

@Jenn82 Epsom salt soaks or wraps work to help loosen the scabs so they can be pulled off easily and then you can remove the infection. If you can put up pictures we can help you better.
:welcome
