Wondering if raising 3 chickens for a few eggs is hard to do?

Welcome to BYC! I see that you've gotten plenty of advice.
I'll add, read the posts above and make a list of pros and cons. You will not save money on eggs, but your eggs will be fresh. Take your space into account first and decide if you have room for a coop and a run. Chickens dig. They do love to scratch and dig holes under plants. They need attention daily and
Chickens, like dogs and cats, require a commitment. If you take vacations, you'll need to hire a caretaker for them.
If you decide to get them you'll need at least 3 to start because they need each others company.
Good luck with your decision.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I originally got chickens for eggs. The eggs are now considered a nice benefit. I have them for their entertainment value.
I have mine penned behind electrified poultry netting to protect them from my dogs and the neighbors dogs as well as other ground threats.
When we go on vacation, I've hired my nephew to come tend the flock. He will work with me three days in a row to learn the ropes.
I've also designed my coop so that caring for 25-30 birds on a day to day basis takes minimal time.
