wonering birds

when i let them out of the coop all 4 of my pullets are wondering off in to the woods to scratch. is ther any way to stop them i dont want them wondering in to my neighbors yard

I have a secure run to keep mine from wandering while we're at work, and a chicken yard surrounded by a four foot fence to keep them contained while we're home. Our Cali White likes to fly over the 4' fence, but we are usually nearby to shoo her back in the chicken yard.

I'd suggest a fence or run of some sort...

they are free ranged while we are home. but they run in tothe woods. should i put chicken wire up or any sugestions. thx

I think they feel a little safer in the woods, and there are all sorts of great bugs in there.

Mine have never really gone traversing through the woods...they just have found a nice place to catch bugs and hang out during the heat of the day.

If you don't want them in the woods at all, then i think your option is a fence.
