wont get off nest

I have 6 girls they've been together for almost 5 months. they've been laying on a regular bases now all of a sudden one seems to just want to sit in the nest box and not get out. the others are stating to peck at her and when I go out and take her off box she walks around with her feathers all puffed up .is she trying to be a brooder? if so how do you stop her. there is plenty of other nest boxes but the other 5 want only that one. one girl laid a egg just in front of box. its becoming a problem any help

She is broody. Lock her in a cage away from the nest box until her broodiness breaks - a matter of days not hours.

I recently had the same problem with a broody hen. If you can, pull her off the nest first thing in the morning and leave her outside till dark. After a couple of days of this she should lose interest. Just an option to try work great for me. Good luck
