I was reading a thread that had mention of wood ash and DE. Wondering what you do with them. We have a wood stove, would LOVE to doing something purposeful with all that ash.

Also, I read somewhere that DE was bad for bees. If so, why would anyone use it?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Mix the ash with your garden soil . I do. I would not use just ash for chicken dust baths. JMO. too dusty as well. DE has good advantages in keeping mites at bay. At least that is what I read. There are other benefits as well. I don't know how your use of DE would affect bees, unless you are also keeping them or someone near you. I would not worry too much about some bee visiting your area to be extremely affected. Tip:: water down your ash and then work into soil. less dust flying.
WISHING YOU BEST
