Wood duck plumage

I have a couple wood ducks and am getting mandarin ducks soon. I almost have my aviary built. I have kind of a weird question for the future. When wood and mandarin ducks get there first feathers as ducklings do they get there eclipse plumage first or there colorful spring plumage first for the males?

Eclipse first and then they gradually molt into the Nuptial plumage in the fall.
