How do you get the proper federal license to keep woodies since they are a migratory bird? Woodies are my favorite duck and I WILL have a pair someday,

I just want to be legal and everything first.

I personally do not know of anyone who would sell wood duck ducklings and ship them.  My local waterfowl breeder sells ducklings to me on occasion since we are only half an hour away.  Most waterfowl breeders sell ornamental waterfowl in the fall time when they can be sexed.

Here is a pic of my tiny 5 month old female wood duck with a two week old Pekin duckling (same size!) I have had my wood duck since she was a day old and I havent found her to be hard to raise at all and she is the first duck Ive ever raised. I often read that they are harder to raise but perhaps I got lucky...she is very affectionate, smart and loyal. She loves our 3 small dogs and little pig and follows me around the yard.
