Wood ducks laying in ground boxes?

My woodies are laying in the ground boxes, I see that they move the nesting material in the elevated boxes every day yet they are not laying in them. When I went out today I had three woodie eggs and a call egg in my one of my ground boxes!
 
That's neat!

Well there is an exception to every rule... So you got some special ducks there lol
