Wood for coop

thank you everyone! This is quite helpful. I will move forward with the zip panels as dont see these issues as a problem in my circumstance. I am considering covering the floor of the coop in rubber stall matt made for horses.. Any experience there with chicken feet and pecking... ?

No experience with them, but I would be worried about getting moisture trapped under them to rot the wood if the a waterer got dumped or your rain/snow protection failed.

I know that they're HEAVY to move when you need to take them up because one of the sheds on this property was lined with them and it took two of us to carry them when we moved them to the workshop to put under some moving boxes.

I have two styles of the matts already and one is very light actually. the other I have this special tool to move them with..
I hear the concern about dampness for sure.
