Wood shaving stuck in belly button

I noticed the the cord on my chick never came off, but when I looked a bit closer I saw wood shaving stuck inside. How can I remove them? Don’t what it to bleed to death

I would think it there was something stuck in there, it would eventually work it’s way out, like a splinter does in the skin.

Update on the chick.... it’s doing really well. I soaked its belly button in water and slowly removed the shavings and it came out pretty easily. Very healthy strong chick!!!
