my chickens are eating the wood shavings in the coop anyone else chickens doing that and will it hurt them

I've seen mine eat a piece or two on occasion with no ill effects.

Should't cause any harm and they will eat some funky things.... We had a pullet that used to have a fetish for cigarette butts and she grew up just fine and thankfully quit eating them. Our daughter smokes as does a neighbor and that darn chicken seemed to live only to hunt the butts and swallow them whole out of ash trays, off the ground, and even shredded a couple un-smoked ones for the butt
