Wood shavings being eaten!!!

Wood shavings is hard to digest. . It usally just passes thru them.. I wouldn't worry. .
Back in the old days people fed sawdust to animals. . But since it was hard to digest. . They soaked it it water first to break down the cellaphene. . I think I have that word right. Then the animals digested it better.

I'm sorry that I'm being a bit daft, but how much can they consume? Should I replace their bedding with something other then pine shavings?

pine shavings is safe to use with a lot of pets.. also for chickens

unless you are starving your chickens since beside a few pecking here and there they will not eat much of the pine savings..

btw, you use fine or flakes?

use flake pine shavings for less dust and you don't have to worry about them eating them as much
