Woods open air coop build with progress pictures

Got the upper roof framed out and started putting on the siding. I am completely obsessed with the siding! My husband picked it based on what he thought I would like, and he was dead on.

Roof is sheathed and siding is almost done. There's one piece in the back that we needed to attach in this picture, plus a few under the eaves of the taller roof.

Installed the hardware cloth.

My husband had the idea to put hardi backer board around the bottom of the interior to keep the corners from getting full of bedding and poop. Hopefully it will make for easier cleanup!

Good Idea....especially because he blocked the top edge!

Yes, thank you! I'm pretty sure that's the exact sealer we bought for the floor and the backer board.

Laid down the floor sealer and up the Hardi backer board on the sides.

painting! We're using valspar exterior paint, the color is butterscotch cream.

I absolutely love how the door came out. Super cute but functional. We're going to put a screen door inside, as well.

Got the pop door set up, plus a cute little branch ladder ramp. Starting to get the trim up as well.

Back roof is completed. Metal roof in the color forest green, same as my house!

Working on the trim plus got the front roof finished.

And this wasn't in the Woods coop plan, but we're putting in an exterior access door for egg collection.

We have some chicken wire installed just until we get the nest boxes built.

And we had some leftover tin so we used that to make the poop board. My husband put it all the way to the wall, just cutting out little notches for the studs to fit into.
