I vote for the comet too. My red sex links were two weeks younger then the rest of the pullets and still started lay 10 day earlier. Yeah for first time layers!

I think you are probably right on the Golden Comet being the egg layer. I found two more this morning under the roost, the side the Comets usually roost. One was soft shelled. Cooked the first brown egg this morning, surprised to see it was a double yoker. Delicious.
