He is beautiful! But he has a single comb, so it makes him look more like a SL OEGB

I really wish I had a roo like him to put with my OEGB hens!

It has been pointed out that he looks like a SL OEGB which according to his comb would be plausible. I really don't know much about the breed and how closely it is genetically to the SS but Laru's brood mate, whom we named Bart aka Black Bart, is a SS with a rose comb. Go figure. Some of the hens from the same brood have a rose comb and some have a straight comb. I figured that there was some tainting in the gene pool along the way.

SS or SL OEGB he is by far my favorite. Partly because he loves to chase my SIL across the yard.

I was just telling Greg that that was the most beautiful bird I've ever seen!!! What a gorgeous boy!

His white is peppered, but yours looks perfect!

Thanks for the compliments although i just raised them from a few day chicks. I haven't had that many chickens but the SSs are definitely my favorite and the most fun to watch run around the yard the way that they fan that tail up, duck their head, and zip along.
