WOOOO HOOO Finally have chickens? Pics

This is my new fortress for my chickens. The top is covered and wire is buried a foot. Gun is loaded. Just kidding. But this should keep predators out! I am so glad to have chickens again. These are called Hi Line Brown Hens. Great laying hen.

What kind of wire did you use? Looks like chicken wire over...something?

I have 20 chickens in the run. The measurements are 16'x40'. We used 1" hex wire, pvc coated on the bottom half and buried it. On the top half we used 2" hex wire. The top supports are 2x6 treated boards, 16' long and spaced 5 feet apart. This is so the top will hold up if we have an ice storm. My husband only wanted to build it once!
