Worm Farm good idea or not?

No need to spend your money on a book about Vermicomposting. Use the money to buy more worms! You can find out all you need to know and then some from Garden webs forum on Vermicomposting. There are a ton of people that dedicate just as much if not more time and advice on worms, than people on here talking about chickens and its FREE! :)

People writing multi year long photo documentaries and worm experiments on there! Some of them are in love with their worms just as much as we are with out chickens!

Thank you all for the information and the great stories.. I do have plenty of room for a worm pit or to set a bin out next to the coop. It is actually very interesting and we are all into being as "Green" as possible so this will be a good thing all the way around.
Also I will look up "Worms Eat My Garbage" and order it this weekend sounds like good reading.
Thanks again!

I always try to find things online to read as much as I can save money and another way to go green! Ya know saving all the trees and what not... haha

Be aware that worms can be carriers of parasitic worms. If feeding very many worms to the chickens watch the chcikens' weight, vigor, etc., to be sure the birds are not carrying a large load of parasitic worms. Study up on parasitic worms and the worming process while your studying up on the edible worms.

FWIW,
Ed
