Worming Chicks

At what age can you worm chicks? I had a friend bring some baby game chicks over and we had them in a plastic tub and when they pooped, worms came out. They are about a week old now.

That's a question Id like to know the answer to also if its ever necessary...all wormers I've seen are for a month and older.
